UV index (UVI)
The UVI is defined as an international standard. It describes the highest expected UV radiation responsible for sunburn at the bottom. On cloudy days this factor is expected at midday The more the UVI raises, the more raises the risk of sunburn.

The UVI highly depends on the angle of sun radiation. It is most effected by the seasons and the geographic location. The intensity of ozone in the atmosphere, the clarity of the sky and the altitude of a location do also effect.
