Here I am in Abu Dhabi, working as a field geologist with Fugro, one of the largest geo-survey companies in the world. For this project I'll be mapping the topography of both land and shallow ocean with a new laser system called LIDAR! Our data provides the feasibility to build a new port for oil-trafficking ships. The best food around here is made by the Lebanese (Hamdhalla - they did not kill all of them ...), the worst by the Brits.
